DESCRIPTION
The UK, Singapore, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, M
exico, Japan – they and other countries already have real time ACH payment
systems in place. Europe is building a SEPA wide system to start in 2017. M
ore are to come in other countries that have announced implementation or st
udies/intent. The new systems are all being built around the ISO 20022 mess
aging standard.
The real time payment movement finally arrived in the US with the Federal Reserve guiding a process that s hould lead to a clear path for future rollout and adoption. Once adopted in the US and Europe, 40% of global retail payments can be covered by this ne w infrastructure. Our contention is that with both Europe and the US on ISO 20022 based real time payments systems this juggernaut will be unstoppable globally. It will have wide implications for the payments eco-system which we will explore with our panel.
But there are differences how the US is going about it compared to other countries. These are based on the regulatory differences and the size and complexity of the market as well as a different business culture in the US. Some companies a re not waiting for the Federal Reserve to get the whole market ready and we see initiatives from small and large players to get the service sooner to their clients without waiting for a central, market wide infrastructure to be put in place.
In this event we will discuss what Faster Payments means, where we are in this process of upgrading our i nfrastructure for it and discuss how it will create new opportunities for t he users of the payment system: corporations, merchants, marketplaces, bank s, and service providers today and in future.
W hether you are in retail payments, C2B or P2P, or involved in B2C or B2B pa yments, join us for an educative session on the topic with other executives in Fintech.
Feel free to inform colleagu
es about this event who may be interested.
