He has a strong background in mobile, payment, security, auth entication, connectivity, broadband, consumer and networking industry. In h is various leadership roles at Siemens, Infineon, Lantiq, and NXP as VP, GM and President he is known for driving new markets and providing simple sol utions for daily life problems by reducing the friction in use of the techn ology. In his current role as VP of Business & Technology at Verifone, he is leading innovative solutions for payments and security. He is also a faculty member (adjunct) at Santa Clara University (SCU) and University of Santa Cruz (UCSC) focusing on mobile payments, e-commerce security and cryp tocurrency. He holds an M.S. in computer engineering from University of Sou thern California (USC) and has completed Global Management Development from Babson College.

Som Shah apurkar is principal scientist (analytics) at FICO and works on innovation and go-to-market strategy for data science, machine-learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI) products. Before FICO, Som led SaaS development for Veri zon Telematics where he deployed the agile framework. Prior to that, during his 14-year tenure at Intel he deployed data science/Big-Data/AI/machine-l earning in the Internet of Things (IOT). He seeded the technology/business assessment on self-driven cars that subsequently led to the $15 Billion acq uisition of Mobile-Eye. He founded a startup in machine learning for energy management which won several business-plan competitions including the sout hwest Clean-Tech Open. Som is a Lean Six Sigma Black belt. He holds a BS an d MS in Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science. His patent on deploying machine-learning production systems is cited by 11 subsequent Go ogle patents. Som likes to teach, bicycle for charitable causes, and travel with his family.

Dr. Williams specializes in the implementation and evaluation of information assurance and data collection techniques to solv e emerging problems around transaction security and privacy in the IoT, fin tech, and transportation. Dr. Williams has diverse scientific experience wi th expertise in systems integration, instrumentation, experimental design, and real-time data acquisition with a focus on systematic error mitigation. He has applied his expertise to validate standards compliance in secure me ssaging protocols between a smart card and host; and to study the integrati on of commercial cryptography solutions into a government approved authenti cation infrastructure for mobile platforms.

John Canfield is the VP Product: Risk, C ompliance and Experience at WePay, a Chase company. John helps protect plat forms like GoFundMe, Meetup, FreshBooks and Constant Contact from fraud and risk while supporting seamless payments experiences for their end users. P rior to WePay, John was Sr. Director of Global Fraud & Risk Management at eBay. Earlier, John was a product leader in a variety of startups includ ing Creative Labs, Zip2, iHello, and Nimbler. John has an MBA from Stanford and a Masters and Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from MIT.
Kim Wagner
Senior Director at Visa
With a background in mathematics an d a Ph.D. in computer science from Carnegie Mellon University Kim has worke d at Visa for 15 years and is currently focused on strengthening end user a uthentication. To that end he is building out Visa’s capabilities in biomet rics, machine learning, security, and cryptography inside the Emerging Tech nology group. Kim has more than 20 patents and patent applications to his n ame and is constantly trying to think of ways that technology can be used t o make paying and being paid easier and more secure. Kim chairs the ISO sub -committee on Security for Financial Services and represents Visa on the EM V Security Working Group that deals with EMV chip card security.
