Today is Silicon Valley Gives, and PayPal is proud to be a supporter for a second year! For today only, any donation made via PayPal on the Silicon Valley Gives website will receive an additional 1% donation match from us, up to $100,000. See terms.
As the name implies, Silicon Valley Gives is a 24-hour online fundraising effort that offers over 850 nonprofits the chance to raise millions of dollars. Every extra dollar raised today goes to helping boost our local communities and local economy – because of that, we believe making a donation – whether big or small, or online or on mobile – is vital.
At PayPal, we’re all about connecting people with the causes they are most passionate about, and we couldn’t be more proud to be helping the local community organizations right in our backyard. Last year, nearly 15,000 donors reported contributing just over $8 million to hometown charities serving San Benito, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties. Now, it’s time to do it again.
Dagmar Schildwach, Chief Development Officer for the Alzheimer's Association Northern California and Northern Nevada Chapter, shares just why Silicon Valley Gives Day is so important: “Funding from campaigns like SV Gives helps the Alzheimer's Association provide vital programs and services in our community, such as support groups, a 24/7 Helpline, family care consultations, and educational seminars. These all make a big difference in so many people's lives.”
I hope you join us in celebrating Silicon Valley Give.
