Jill Rose, GM, PayPal Here
Since its launch just three years ago, the PayPal Here mobile card reader has become a critical tool for millions of small businesses around the world, enabling them to get paid whenever and wherever they do business. As part of PayPal’s partner based approach, we’ve been collaborating with smart technology leaders to put new products and features into the hands of merchants to help businesses drive sales, increase revenue and enable their customers to pay how, when and where they want.
In January, we announced that PayPal and Microsoft have been working together on new solutions that make it possible for small businesses to increase their productivity while making it easier to get paid. Today, we’re excited to announce that the PayPal Here mobile card reader together with Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and other Windows 8.1 tablet devices are now available for purchase at microsoftstore.com and in full line Microsoft stores in the U.S.
When paired with the PayPal Here app, downloadable from the Windows store, business owners can accept in-person credit card and debit card payments from their customers, anytime, anywhere. In addition to iOS and Android devices, PayPal Here reader compatibility now includes the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and other tablets that operate on Windows 8.1. More details about this solution, including a limited-time promotional offer, are outlined on the Microsoft Surface blog.
Just in time for merchants to spring ahead and increase sales, we’re also pleased to remind everyone of the PayPal Here SDK for select small businesses using the Windows platform. In collaboration with Microsoft, our ISV partners like Canvas have developed custom business apps for merchants so they can process sales on their Windows devices. Custom apps using the PayPal Here SDK can get access to the same world-class product features and customer support enjoyed by existing PayPal Here users.
