Tomer Barel, Chief Risk Officer, PayPal
Our customers’ trust and security is one of the highest priorities at PayPal. We want to ensure you’re protected from checkout to delivery. Hence, we are announcing the expansion of our Global Buyer Protection globally to cover intangible goods. This includes services, and digital goods, like digital music, digital books, digital games, travel tickets and software downloads.
Beginning July 1, 2015, if you pay for a service or digital product using PayPal and it is significantly different from how it was described, or you pay for one of these items and it is not delivered, PayPal will ensure that the money is credited back to your account.
PayPal’s Global Buyer Protection has covered physical goods for many years, and our latest updates incorporate the feedback we’ve been receiving from you, and underline PayPal’s reputation as the faster, safer way to pay online, on smartphones and in-store. As one of the leading ways to buy and sell digital goods and services around the world, we want to provide the same protection and peace of mind for digital goods that buyers have come to expect from our brand.
