PayPal was recently host to more than one thousand bright and talented young men and women looking to refine and expand their skills in technology.
The event, called HSHACKS, was a huge success. There were more than 1,110 students present on our campus in San Jose, of which 750 were first time hackers. They submitted a total of 160 submissions for a number of prizes across different categories.
The students were given brief tutorials on HTML/CSS, JavaScript, Parse, Android development, Unity game development, and off they went.
Here’s a short list of what they created:
“Tinder for Music” Chemistry formulas Wifi Client Detectors Drone Buddy Anti-Bullying App Variety of games Tutor buddies And much more….
Students tested out and integrated Pebble Smartwatches, Myo armbands and intelligent headsets into their final projects.
The parents were super appreciative of us providing the venue and opportunity for them to connect and learn, and I do hope that quite a few of them come back and join us in the future.
