The “Build a Business” contest was simple: 1. Start a business from scratch, 2. Pick a category, and 3. Pick a product that can be sold and sell the most products in that category to win.
And the Winners are…
The eight winning businesses using PayPal we’d like to congratulate are:
Bolder Band – JD and Amy Crouse developed a fashionable moisture-wicking headband that stays put. Drones Etc - Shawn Rowland and Jonathan Baird created a site to sell drones and their accessories. EZ Lite Cruiser – Maciej Szkodzinski created a light-weight, compact and collapsible wheelchair/scooter. MVMT Watches – Jake Kassan and Kramer LaPlante created and sold watches that don’t break. Output Sounds – Gregg Lehrman created the world's first collection of virtual instruments that can be played in reverse, in real-time. Tatsup – Kevin Mack started an online premium tattoo supply company. WOD Life – Andy Lee developed a site to create custom athletic gear for cross-fit athletes. Zoom Hash – Michael Cao created an ecommerce site for the niche market of crypto currency mining equipment.
Each winner recieves $50,000 and a VIP trip to NYC in August to meet the mentors for each category, as well as some advice on how to become the next small business mogul. Some of the mentors that the winners will meet include: Daymond John (founder of Fubu), Mark Cuban (Owner of the Dallas Mavericks), Selita Banks (model, health and fashion guru), Lil Jon (musician) and Arianna Huffington (founder of the Huffington Post).
