The biggest soccer event in the world has come to a close. From the upsets and referee controversies to Tim Howard’s record-breaking 16 saves against Belgium, some are calling this the most epic tournament ever.
As the host country, Brazil may not have won this time, but the tournament did bring a lot of good; hundreds of thousands of people will now have access to clean water, thanks to a special relationship between PayPal, Waves for Water, and Brazil’s own team captain, Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior.
Together, we set out to bring clean water to those for whom it is a luxury and power the people economy to support a cause that will make a real difference in the lives of thousands in Brazil.
With your help, we did it! Together, we produced positive results for Brazilian communities in need:
$312,965 raised Access to clean water for six million people, per day, for five years Access to over 50 million liters of clean water, per day, for five years
