Jean Michel is an entrepreneur with a FinTech focus.
Currently, Jean Michel is the COO of Stock Circles, an AI-driven autotrading platform. Previously, he co-founded Crowdfunder, a leading Crowdfunding platform, which has raised over $200m for tech companies over the last five years.
Prior to become an entrepreneur, Jean-Michel worked for Microsoft where he participated in the launch of the search engine Bing. His Finance-heavy portfolio included: Intuit, AIG, FXCM
He is passionate about Entrepreneurship and those who build things. He has been advising multiple Founders over the years and made investments in WOSH, Helpr and Stample.
Eric Bunting, the founder of Overbrook Capital, is a private investor and advisor to over thirty tech-enabled start-ups. FinTech is a core focus and investments include Kabbage, Funding Circle and Yapstone. Eric Bunting is also President of MIH Water, a provider of patented bioremediation water treatment technology. Eric was previously with Soros Capital, Monitor Company, Airport Group International and Gilbert Global Equity Partners. Eric is a graduate of Dartmouth College and Stanford University Graduate School of Business and is a member of YPO and the Pacific Council on International Policy.
Kevin represents entrepreneurs and startup companies in building successful businesses. He is a corporate and intellectual property attorney and a partner at Stubbs Alderton and Markiles, LLP, a full-service, Los Angeles-based business law firm representing many of Southern California’s most promising emerging growth technology companies. Kevin structures and negotiates equity and debt investment transactions, technology development deals and commercialization agreements and ventures for monetizing intellectual property assets. Prior to Stubbs Alderton, Kevin was a partner in leading international law firms, including Brobeck Phleger & Harrison, LLP, where he headed the firm’s technology transactions practice in Southern California. Kevin is a registered patent attorney and worked as an engineer before law school. He served as a judicial law clerk for Hon. John G. Davies, United States District Court for the Central District of California and received his J.D. degree from Hastings College of the Law and his B.S. degree from the University of California, Davis.
Peter Mansfield is the quintessential startup marketing professional. Over the course of 25 years, he has been involved in a notable sequence of early stage company adventures and successes. Peter’s in-the-trenches experience makes him particularly valuable in helping new ventures move quickly and efficiently to realize their market potential. He has helped fast growth companies including PropertyBridge, Xylan, Packeteer, Xircom, and Gearworks reach an aggregate market value of close to $5 billion. On a tactical level, Peter gets actively involved in branding, user acquisition, partner development, social media marketing, PR, and channel programs. Peter’s current roster of venture-funded clients includes Revolution Credit (Irvine), Wallaby Financial (Pasadena), The Build Card (Washington DC), and Thriii (Santa Monica).
Kevin Covert is a veteran entrepreneur, investor and investment banker who has launched and built three financial services companies in Southern California. He has extensive hands on experience providing strategic advice to early stage private companies regarding raising capital and M&A. Kevin is currently co-founder of Strandview Capital which provides strategic growth capital to financial services and technology companies. In 1999, Kevin co-founded investment bank Montgomery & Co., which he helped build over 10 years into one of the leading tech-focused investment banks of its time. From 2009-2015, Mr. Covert launched and built his own investment bank Covert & Co., focused on equity financing and M&A for tech companies. Kevin has worked closely with financial services companies in sectors such as investment platforms, online credit reporting, ecommerce transaction processing, mobile check deposit/bill pay, credit card security, payroll processing, ERP/financial software, and online payment companies. Kevin started his career in investment banking at Credit Suisse and Salomon Brothers (now Citigroup), and received his MBA from Stanford University..
David is currently the CFO at Docupace Technologies and throughout his career has both led and advised the corporate finance, banking and operations in a broad range of business ventures, from entrepreneurial to well established middle market companies. Mr. Donell has participated in dozens of capital raising endeavors ranging from real estate syndication, venture capital equity and debt and social investments.
In 2016, David successfully navigated Docupace through the bankruptcy of its majority owner, successfully repurchasing the majority interest from the bankruptcy estate and simultaneously recapitalizing the Company with over $16M in new venture equity.
From 2007 to 2013, David was the Chief Financial Officer at the X PRIZE Foundation, a nonprofit who’s mission is to cause radical change for the benefit of humanity utilizing a large prize model as a catalyst. While at X PRIZE, Donell oversaw the award of over $50 million in purse money, negotiated and closed over $60 million in Fortune 50 corporate sponsorship and facilitated $15 million in funding to the organization through the innovative use of private stock donations.
Prior to X PRIZE, David was the Chief Financial Officer for several technology related companies including Fasturn, Inc., a software platform used for sourcing and tracking international textiles manufacturing and Avega Health Systems, a software company specializing in decision support software for the healthcare industry.
Mr. Donell is a certified public accountant, a certified fraud examiner, is certified in financial forensics and holds FINRA series 7 and 63 registrations.
