Amazon, LG integrate Alexa into hotel TVs

June 19, 2019

LG Business Solutions has partnered with Amazon to deliver Alexa for Hospitality to LG's hotel TVs. Guest will be able to use the Echo device in their hotel room to control the TV, connect their Amazon account and uncover information, according to a press release.

With the integration, LG TV will display notifications about events and activities around the hotel and encourage guests to ask Alexa for more information and services such as happy hour or booking a taxi. Guests can also search for TV shows by genre, order room service, access Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora and perform other tasks.

"This experience integrates with hoteliers' existing amenities and services to offer guests new ways to access hotel services, learn about activities on the property and more," Liron Torres, head of Alexa for Hospitality, said in the release. "We're thrilled to be working with LG to bring the simplicity and convenience of Alexa for Hospitality to hotel guests."
