Connecting Central and Andean America with the international wholesale telecoms markets

Capacity Conferences would like to thank all of the 171 attendees, 7 sponsors and 7 exhibitors for making the 4^th annual conference most successful Capacity Central America so far. For the first time since the event launched in 2009 the focus of the conference was expanded to include Andean America, reflecting both the increased flow of investment coming from Andean countries into Central America and the extension of terrestrial networks connecting these two vital and strategic regions. This opened up attendance to many new companies and a staggering 14% of the delegates came from Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador and Chile.

The conference was opened by keynote interviews in which Linda Wellstein, Chair – Global Technology, Telecommunications and Media Practice at WELLSTEIN MORA RODRIGUEZ INTERNATIONAL pressed Rafael Arranz, EVP – Marketing Capacity & IP Sales, America and Pacific, TELEFONICA INTERNATIONAL WHOLESALE SERVICES and Roberto Rodriguez, Wholesale Director – One Network, TIGO for their opportunities and challenges in the region and strategies when entering new markets. The message from both companies was that their investments in the region would be rewarded despite the slowing of the double digit growth of previous years.
