Capacity Conferences would like to thank all805 attendees, 27 sponsors and 44 exhibitorsfor making the 12th annual Capacity Europethe biggest and most successful so far.

José Ramón Vela, the CEO of TELEFONICA INTERNATIONAL WHOLESALE SERVICES opened the event with a positive evaluation of the future prospects of the wholesale business. The optimism continued throughout the day with presentations from Michel Guyot, President, Global Voice Solutions of TATA COMMUNICATIONS, Daniel Kurgan, CEO of BICS and Alexandre Pébereau, EVP – International Carriers of ORANGE.

Alex Hawkes, Editor of Capacity magazine opened day 2 by interviewing Matt Carter, President –Global Wholesale & Emerging Solutions at SPRINT. Utilising the strapline “Know.Innovate.Grow” Carter discussed Sprint’s focus on achieving revenue growth through diverse verticals. He was followed by a keynote presentation from Holger Magnussen, Senior Vice President of DEUTSCHE TELEKOM ICSS who called on operators to join the “internet+” movement and help retain transit margins.

The aptly named ‘Great Cloud Debate’ started day 3 of Capacity Europe 2012 with a dynamic (and sometimes heated) panel looking at where the opportunity truly lies for carriers in the enterprise and consumer clouds. This theme was picked up in the following data centre panel and Capacity Europe closed with a public vs. private cloud argument.

Capacity Awards & Gala Dinner 2012

The winners of the Capacity Awards 2012 were announced at a suitably glitzy gala dinner, which saw 16 winners take to the stage and collect their awards in front of a packed ballroom. Innovation and excellence were the themes for the night, with the Capacity Awards 2012 judging panel commending the strong progress made by the industry as a whole during the last 12 months. For the full list of winners please click here.
