Enterprise Mobility is truly coming of age. Over the past 12 months, nearly all major technology vendors have made mobility one of their key focus areas which has driven awareness and confidence across the enterprise customer base. With this change, all the components, including stable devices, fast and reliable networks, and scalable applications, required for companies to develop and support complex enterprise mobility solutions are now in place. So the question is - why are so few companies leveraging enterprise mobility solutions to drive competitive advantage and deliver business transformation?

According to IDC's Enterprise Mobility Maturity Model, 21% of companies across APeJ have no mobility strategy and an additional 57% are in the earliest phases of mobile solutions deployments. The challenge these companies face is that they have taken a reactive approach to addressing the challenges and opportunities created by mobility. The objective of IDC's Enterprise Mobility Summit 2014 is to help companies identify the steps they need to evolve their mobility offerings and to deliver tangible business benefits, including enhancing their mobility strategy, planning for the physical and financial resources required, investing in infrastructure and platforms for growth versus point solutions and delivering all their solutions securely.

Enterprise Mobility is a key element to delivering the capabilities of future workspace. Having a mobility strategy is now a critical requirement for many organizations. It's a confusing environment and organizations are looking for best-practice examples in areas such as mobile security, applications development and bring your own device (BYOD).

This IDC’s Asia/Pacific Enterprise Mobility conference: Steering a Mobile Enterprise is designed to strip away the rhetoric and provide attendees with a clear understanding of the latest developments in mobility and how to develop a comprehensive mobility strategy that is secure, social and best suits their business requirements.

The agenda will be created to provide a mix of IDC's analysis and views on where mobility will go in 2014 and beyond as well as the way it would impact our future work environment.
