The use of competition powers by sector regulators – does concurrency work?
Thursday 16th October 2014
Institute of Directors, Pall Mall, London
18:45 |
The Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013 places a strengthened obligation on sector regulators to give primacy to the use of their competition powers ahead of regulatory ones, where appropriate. The UK Competition Network has been established to improve co-ordination between the Competition and Markets Authority and sector regulators. This lecture will examine the concurrency regime within sectoral regulation and competition policy, including potential future developments with the new arrangements.
