Kenya has over 22,000 registered BOSA saccos, and 300,000 registered chamas, collectively saving 300 billion shillings per year.

Many of these saccos and chamas are successful at accumulating savings in a bank account, but fail to agree upon an investment strategy amongst the members. Consequently, their savings are in many cases “underinvested”.

The purposes of the Sacco Investment Summit include:

1. Provide training to Saccos on responsible investment strategies - how to manage an investment portfolio using best practices of diversification and risk management.

2. Expose Saccos to a variety of reputable investment opportunities across the full range of sectors.

3. Provide basic training on the impact of inflation and government policy on investment portfolio performance and how to hedge a portfolio against systemic risk.

4. Provide training on how to successfully invest in real estate.
