Managing Director, Calman & Company LLC

Matt Calman led major innovations in transaction processing and digital banking innovation in his 27 years at Bank of America.

He built an innovation lab team that delivered more than 500 concepts, simulations, prototypes, and customer tests in seven years and in 2009, designed and launched a Product Innovation Lab in Beijing with China Construction Bank.  He led the Center for Future Banking at the MIT Media Lab and sponsored research at Carnegie Mellon University’s HCI Institute.

A prolific inventor in financial services technology, he is named on 50 issued U.S. patents and more than 200 pending applications.  Today he is an expert witness and innovation consultant and remains active with industry groups involving payments, mobile financial services, and innovation.
