Super Sleuth Conference on Cyber Crime 2016
Download as iCal file

Last year, the Cyber-crime conference was another great success with an impressive turnout. Students were highly motivated by profound speakers as Professor Anderson from the University of Cambridge. This year, we hope to keep up with the global cyber threats and continue to raise awareness and propose more tactics in battling against cyber-crime.

One of the many objectives of this event is to raise awareness of the present and potential effects and opportunities relating to cyber-crime and identity theft. Cyber-crime is a fast-growing area of crime. More and more criminals are exploiting the speed, convenience and anonymity of the Internet to commit a diverse range of criminal activities. We look to inform our guests of the effects and solutions that can be brought about in this area.

From the previous conference, we had a more informative and academic perspective of what cyber-crime is or can be. But this year, we aim to invite individuals from the Leicestershire Police Hi Tech Crime Unit to participate as well to incite us with how they have had, or intend to combat and prevent cyber-crime. This conference will also be opened to any cyber hunters from the law enforcement, government and private sector IT professionals and legal practitioners.

We also hope to invite F-secure, Santander and other Anti-Fraud or Internet Security Corporations to fascinate our students by hosting workshops at the conference along with product demonstration.

Location University Rd, Leicester LE1 7RH, United Kingdom
