International Tax Conference
Download as iCal file
The International Tax Conference will focus on a number of recent initiatives of relevance for practitioners in this field. A newly agreed on EU directive (ATAD II) aims at preventing tax avoidance through hybrid mismatches, over and beyond the existing rules (ATAD I). Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) will force large multinationals to provide an annual report that breaks down key elements of their financial statements by jurisdiction and will provide local tax authorities visibility of revenues, income and taxes. Under a proposal by the EU Commission, cross-border tax planning schemes bearing certain characteristics which can result in losses for governments might have to be automatically reported by intermediaries (consulting firms, banks, lawyers, tax advisors, accountants, etc.) to the tax authorities before they are used. Finally, the European Court of Justice continues to shape European VAT law.
Location St Julian's, Malta
