Hill Ferguson, Chief Product Officer, PayPal
For the last three years Money2020 has put together a great platform for the industry and again I am looking forward to participating this year, but also happy to share some exciting things we are doing at PayPal with people, businesses and industry leaders.
Bringing PayPal to Burger King Customers
BURGER KING® restaurant customers in the U.S. will soon be able to pay for their meals using PayPal, through our collaboration with Tillster Inc. Tillster worked with Burger King Corporation to develop the BURGER KING app® (available for iOS and Android), which offers customers increased convenience and savings. With the BURGER KING® App, guests can receive exclusive offers and discounts at BK® restaurants, find their closest BK® restaurant, and browse the menu and nutritional information. We will be rolling out later this quarter across the United States to all locations, BK® restaurant guests will be able to securely pay with PayPal by simply launching the app and when they select to pay with PayPal they will be prompted with a four digit pin to pay.
Millions of Customers Using Pay After Delivery
We recently rolled out something that only PayPal can do: Pay After Delivery. With Pay After Delivery, people can pay for their goods up to 14 days after purchase, giving them more access to resources and flexibility in how and when they want to pay. Already we have seen millions of consumers use the Pay After Delivery service. We want people to have the same level of confidence whether they shop online or in store, which is why we have relationships with both buyers and sellers, enabling shoppers to buy things and pay later, while ensuring that merchants gets paid immediately.
Working With Key Industry Players to Simplify Payments
We take a collaborative approach to payments – building relationships with merchants and other key industry players – which allows us to tap into our vast network to create the best experiences in-store, online or across platforms on mobile. Our open approach to payments allows us to build relationships with businesses to create industry-first experiences for more people faster.
In line with this approach, we’ve been working closely with GoDaddy on its new Online Store. The Online Store offers small businesses the opportunity to build their own complete ecommerce website that can be set up in minutes to accept payments. Businesses who use GoDaddy Online Store for their website development get PayPal Express Checkout button pre-installed on their site which gives small businesses a faster, safer way to pay, while helping increase conversion rates and sales.
Today, Authorize.Net and Cybersource (Visa Companies) announced that PayPal will be available to their 450,000 online businesses through a single platform. With one connection to Authorize.Net, small businesses will have the ability to accept PayPal along with other payment services, offering consumers a safer and simpler mobile checkout experience, regardless of the device or platform being used.
We’re excited for Money2020 this year and look forward to the collaborative discussions, news and industry chatter. We welcome you to stop by our booth (#1201) at the show to discuss collaborating with PayPal so your business can leverage our more than 157 million customers across 203 markets around the world.
