Ian Rubin, Director and Practice Lead, Retail Banking & Consumer Payments, Americas at ACI

Ian's Bio:

Ian analyzes the complex and quickly developing transformational changes affecting retail financial services, assesses their impact to the banking and payments ecosystem, and communicates this information to ACI’s strategic clients through the development of business models, value propositions, and thought leadership. Ian is highly engaged with strategic client development and product strategy.

Among the topics he studies are omnichannel banking, immediate payments, mobile payments, card fraud controls, and cyber-currencies. Within his portfolio of responsibilities, Ian represents ACI on the Federal Reserve Bank’s Faster Payments Task Force, and on NACHA’s Payments Innovation Alliance.

Ian has presented at senior-level industry events such as Sibos and NACHA Faster Payments Imperative event, positioning ACI as a progressive software provider delivering innovative solutions. He is the author of the ACI blog “My Inside View,” sharing opinions and observations across global payments.

Before joining ACI in 2014, Ian worked for several market analyst and consulting firms, including TowerGroup, IDC Financial Insights, and Mercator Advisory Group, where he established and directed its strategic consulting organization. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brandeis University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Ian serves as a board member for several civic, community, and social service organizations, but prioritizes trying to keep pace with his three teenage daughters.
