A wearable Android smartphone that weighs just 78g and comes with an armband-style strap and a pair of JBL earphones has been unveiled at MWC 14 by Alcatel Onetouch. The metallic Idol 2, Idol 2S and Idol 2 Mini S with NFC have also been added to the phone maker's range.
The Pop Fit is a small, brightly coloured phone aimed at those with active lifestyles and focusses on music playing and fitness tracking features. The device offers a 2.8-inch QVGA display and is powered by a 1GHz dual core CPU.
The Pop Fit will be available in both NFC and non-NFC versions, in red, pink, black, turquoise and yellow.
The Idol 2 devices feature brushed metallic finishing and, the company says, are designed "to bring premium design and sleek styling to the mass market at a smart price."
The Idol 2 boasts a 5-inch qHD screen, a quad core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, and runs Android 4.2. The Idol 2S offers a 5-inch full HD screen, LTE and runs Android 4.3, while the Idol 2 Mini S is similarly specced but slightly smaller, with a 4.5-inch qHD screen. An update to Android 4.4 Kitkat is promised for all the Idol 2 devices.
