The Conexus Mobile Alliance, a regional grouping of mobile network operators, is promoting NFC throughout Asia with a "Tap and Get" smart poster campaign.
Tap and Get rewards customers of Korean carrier KT or Japanese carrier NTT Docomo with the chance to win travel packages by simply tapping NFC posters on display at international airports in Indonesia, Japan, Korea and the Philippines. Contestants are then taken to a web page where they fill out their details.
"As the region's leading mobile alliance, we are continuously seeking opportunities to provide pioneering services to our customers. Tap and Get underscores our commitment to be at the forefront of innovation in the Asia Pacific, while at the same time providing exciting rewards to our customers," says Conexus chairman Alex Caeg.
Conexus is an alliance of mobile operators that includes KT and NTT Docomo as well as Hong Kong's HTHK (which operates the 3 network), India's BSNL and MTNL, Indonesia's Indosat, Singapore's StarHub, Thailand's TrueMove, Philippines-based Smart Communications, Taiwan's Far Eastone and Vietnam's Vinaphone.
The promotion will run from 31 May to 31 July 2013 and consumers will be able to enter the prize draw as many times as they wish.
"Conexus recognizes the huge potential of NFC in the Asia Pacific. This offering is just one of the many initiatives we have lined up to promote new technologies, including NFC, to the 350-million strong network of the Conexus alliance," adds Caeg.
