DBS has become the first bank to offer a virtual credit card to customers of all three mobile network operators in Singapore.
DBS One.Tap launched in August 2012 for StarHub customers and was expanded to M1 subscribers last week. Now, the NFC payments service is also available to SingTel customers, which means that all DBS and POSB card holders can now sign up for the service.
"DBS regards the mobile platform as a very important customer touchpoint and we have always kept a strong focus on delivering greater value and convenience via our mobile banking services," says Jeremy Soo, head of DBS' consumer banking group in Singapore.
"With NFC, it will change the way people make payments, enjoy rewards and shop. We will further expand our partnership with merchant partners to offer customers greater rewards in adopting the NFC technology."
More than 30,000 DBS merchants are currently equipped with contactless payment terminals.
