Canadian carrier-owned TSM provider EnStream is to use Bell ID's Trusted Service Manager platform to provision and manage secure applications on consumers' NFC devices.
The joint venture between Bell Mobility, Telus and Rogers Communications operates a hub that aims to act as a single connection point between Canadian issuers and the country's mobile network operators.
EnStream previously selected BlackBerry to manage secure credential management on SIMs used in both Android and Windows smartphones as well as BlackBerry NFC devices. BlackBerry, in turn, picked Bell ID to provide the token management for its service.
"Bell ID Trusted Service Manager was chosen since it fully aligns with industry standards and is scalable and adaptable to future business and technical requirements," says Almis Ledas, EnStream's COO. "It is also form factor neutral, supporting applications on any type of secure element. The flexibility offered by the solution ensures that we can support different implementation models and provide a wide range of capabilities to our customers."
