HTC Mini+

Phone maker HTC has unveiled the Mini+, an tiny lightweight companion handset that allows calls to be made using a smartphone's connection once paired through NFC or Bluetooth.

The Mini+ is the successor to the Mini, a similar device only released in China for use with the Butterfly handset, and uses Bluetooth to sustain a link to a smartphone, allowing users to get instant notifications of texts and emails as well as make and receive calls through the device.

Compatible with HTC's One, One Mini, Butterfly and the Desire range of handsets, the Mini+ can also be used as a remote control for taking photos with the smartphone's camera. A CIR infrared transmitter can control a TV or presentations via an app, and the device also boasts a built-in laser pointer.

Available in metallic silver at around £65 (US$100), the Mini+ offers nine hours of talk time and 95 hours of battery life while on standby.
