Mobile payment provider iKaaz, founded by former Nokia Money employees, has launched an NFC reader that converts a mobile phone into a mobile POS device.
The reader, priced at less than US$20, plugs into any mobile phone and enables it to accept cashless payments from customers using iKaaz NFC stickers attached to their phones. The company's Tap & Pay solution, says CEO Soma Sundaram, can be used for "retail payments, transportation, entertainment and numerous other touch points".
