Inside Modifies Corporate Structure, as It Continues to Pull Back from NFC Controller Market

Inside Secure has reorganized its business units, as it continues to refocus its strategy toward embedded security while pulling back from the NFC controller market.

The France-based vendor and NFC pioneer announced another piece of its reorganization late last week, saying it was doing away with its separate mobile NFC unit and putting most of those assets imageinto a new mobile security division.

Besides mobile NFC, Inside said it would also reorganize its three other business units, secure payment, digital security and embedded security solutions. Together, the four units would be merged into two divisions, mobile security and secure transactions.

Inside also made executive changes that it hopes will help it stay competitive and turn a profit for the first time in its history. Following job cuts earlier this year to nearly 20% of its workforce, among other restructuring, the company confirmed during a conference call Thursday with financial analysts that it was close to breaking even, perhaps this fiscal year.
