"Big data" analytics specialist Symphony Teleca has signed a strategic development partnership deal with printed silicon tag maker Kovio.
"NFC-enabled mobile phones are bringing about a new era in consumer marketing, enabling manufacturers and retailers to gather highly specific data about consumer buying patterns and habits, and delivering targeted promotions, loyalty programs and other campaigns that appeal to specific consumers," says Venkat Rajan, general manager of Symphony Teleca's analytics division.
"Leveraging our experience in big data analytics for consumer and retail markets, we're looking forward to working with Kovio to develop advanced NFC-based solutions that redefine mobile marketing."
The move follows the addition of support for Kovio's NFC Barcode printed silicon tags to the Android operating system with the release of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean in November 2012.
