POS solution provider Leaf has unveiled a new version of its Android-based LeafPresenter device which includes support for NFC payments as well as EMV, gift cards, and 1D and 2D barcodes.
The new tablet-style device is powered by an updated version of the Leaf OS that allows third-party developers to hook into Leaf's backend system to create apps that can then be made available to merchants on the Leaf Appstore.
"Leaf is on a mission to turn standard point of sale into point of smart interactions for small businesses, so it's important that we stay on the cutting edge of technology," says CEO Aron Schwarzkopf.
"We want to enable creative developers on our platform to have all the tools they need to come up with game-changing ideas. The combination of secure payment technology with the latest hardware and internet connectivity in the LeafPresenter creates limitless possibilities for them."
The new LeafPresenter will be available this summer, says the company.
