Drivers in Metz, France can now register online to get an NFC sticker that allows them to pay for their stay at a 2,100 place underground car park without a ticket or cash.
When entering and exiting the Parking République garage, the user simply holds their mobile phone, with the sticker attached to the back, in front of a reader. The system calculates the parking fee and electronically debits the customer's prepaid account, says sticker provider Schreiner PrinTrust.
