Morpho opens Latin American TSM facility

ID technology provider Morpho has opened a TSM data centre in São Paulo, Brazil. The facility, believed to be the first in Latin America, will "provide the infrastructure for all businesses that need secure and convenient electronic mobile payment solutions via NFC, including banks, telecom operators and public transportation," says the company.

Morpho points to the advantages of using a local TSM, which include face-to-face service in Portuguese and Spanish, local service, high availability of servers and, in Brazil, assurance that customer data remains in the country.

"Since the data centre is already prepared to support large-scale projects, we expect to be operational for production in the second half of this year," says the company's Paolo Villasco. "Our plan is to set up additional data centres in Latin America."
