Taiwan’s No. 3 mobile telco plans to launch a large trial among employees of its big conglomerate owner, Far Eastern Group. The trial, which could lead to a commercial launch next year, will combine payment, transit fare collection and retail loyalty applications on SIM cards the telco issues. Users will be able to tap a range of Android phones to pay for purchases, ride transit and use loyalty programs.
