NFC Times Exclusive –  China UnionPay is continuing negotiations with Apple and some sources told NFC Times it is gearing up for a planned launch of Apple Pay in China.

Meanwhile, China’s largest telco, China Mobile, says it will continue to roll out NFC SIM cards. 

Jiang Haijian, deputy general manager for China UnionPay, confirmed to NFC Times during a conference last week at the Mobile World Congress Shanghai that the giant payments scheme was in negotiations with Apple, while an associate went further, saying the project was in “development.”
