A short video published by MasterCard shows Samsung’s new Samsung Pay mobile payment service in action, demonstrating how a user chooses a payment card, authenticates and then holds their phone next to a standard payment terminal to conduct a transaction.
In the video a customer is shown waking their Samsung Galaxy S6 near a contactless payment terminal to reveal a default card, then scanning their fingerprint to authorise the transaction. The phone then tells them to “hold the indicated area near an NFC reader or a credit card reader” while it flashes a circle on the upper part of its screen.
A text overlay in the video points out that payment can be made via “MST, NFC and barcode” as the user holds his Galaxy S6 next to the terminal to make the payment.
