IRIS STRATEGY: ViewSonic video demonstrates their smartphone’s iris scanner in action

Projector and display manufacturer ViewSonic has released a teaser video for a smartphone equipped with iris recognition that would enable users to unlock their phone, files and folders as well as authenticating mobile payments.

The ViewSonic V55 will feature a hidden iris scanner on the top right corner of the phone that is enabled when the user slides open a small cover. To access folders and files or to unlock a device or authorize a payment, users will hold up the smartphone and scan their eye using the sensor.
