BNP Paribas executive Samy Touboul to lead e-Commerce & Enterprise business unit at Viva Wallet


Viva Wallet, a leading European cloud-based neobank, announces the appointment of Samy Touboul, as its new Head of E-Commerce & Enterprise for the French market.

With a deep knowledge of the payment ecosystem and an unrivaled expertise in acceptance networks’ development and the online business space, Mr. Touboul aspires to take Viva Wallet’s e-commerce business in France to new heights, harnessing the possibilities of the tech powerhouse’ state-of-the-art, in-house payment technologies. France is one of Viva Wallet’s priority markets, growing in line with the Organisation’s growth rate at 50%.

A renowned banking figure, Samy Touboul comes from BNP Paribas where he held the position of Head of E-Commerce Group. Mr. Touboul started his professional journey at Diners Club in the mid-80s, working his way up from the authorization department to account management. With a focus on developing acceptance networks, he moved to the French subsidiary of FIS before “landing” in BNP Paribas. During the past 15 years with the French bank, he succeeded in establishing its e-commerce business unit entirely from scratch, onboarding multi-billion customers and contributing to their digital transformation. As he realized early on the way rising PSPs would reshuffle the banking status quo, he created a brand-new revenue stream for the bank though creative synergies, that remains one of its most profitable business units.
