Credit card fraud surges in Switzerland

Credit and cash card fraud in Switzerland is rising sharply, according to a government report released today.
It found that the number of cases rose especially sharply in the first half of this year as 225 cash machines were fitted with card copying devices in the first four months of this year—that’s almost double the number of cases seen in the whole of last year.

Ticket machines at train stations are also increasingly being used in criminal activity, as are card readers at supermarkets.
The report reminds people to refrain from using ATMs or ticket machines with fronts that look rickety, or have unusual gaps.
These are fake fronts designed to cover the illegal device that will steal your cash card information.
The report also highlights an increase in hacking internationally as well.
