Mexico-based Plata has partnered with authentication solutions provider Entersekt to increase the security of its credit card with 3-D Secure payment authentication. The recently released Plata Card provides Mexican customers with technology and security, offering users up to 5% cashback on purchases and a payment period of up to 60 days.

Through this collaboration, Plata receives low friction payment authentication with risk-aware 3-D Secure, allowing Plata Card to have an 18% higher transaction success rate with orchestrated and customisable payment authentication. The partnership’s objective According to Entersekt’s officials, the partnership enables Plata to ensure the safety of its customers, while the company’s Context Aware technology provides a simplified user experience with the least possible friction. Through this, the two companies aim to create an optimal environment for an improved online shopping experience and ecommerce growth in the country.

Plata’s objective is to increase financial inclusion in Mexico, as only 10.5% of the population between 18 and 70 years old own a credit card. Representatives from Plata stated that the collaboration with Entersekt offers their company an advanced payment and authentication stack that provides an additional protection layer to 3-D Secure. Entersekt’s Access Control Server and its Context Aware authentication technology offer Plata’s customers a high level of security. Through this, Plata aims to deliver products that answer the needs of Mexican customers who are not part of the formal banking ecosystem.

By protecting them against fraudulent activities and offering an enhanced customer experience, the company wants to ensure that new users continue to leverage its products and trust the digital solutions it intends to deliver in the future.
