Payments Canada welcomes Donna Kinoshita as chief payments officer


Payments Canada, Canada's financial market infrastructure for payments, today welcomed Donna Kinoshita to its Executive Leadership Team in the role of Chief Payments Officer, effective May 2, 2023.

The Chief Payments Officer role combines the management of our external relations with regulators, stakeholders and members, and oversight of policy, research and communications teams, along with the responsibility for the strategic management and enhancement of Payments Canada’s systems and services. Donna and her teams will leverage our relationships with the ecosystem to define and prioritize enhancements to our systems. This includes their supporting legal frameworks, our services, and the identification of opportunities and the introduction of additional capabilities that will support the Canadian payment ecosystem and Canada’s economy.

Previous to Payments Canada, Donna Kinoshita was at Symcor for a number of years. As Senior Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer, Donna provided scaled solutions to enable digital transformation for Symcor customers and was responsible for integrated sales, product and marketing strategy. Prior to Symcor, Donna spent several years at Mastercard. As Senior Vice President & Group Head, Global Products & Solutions, Donna was responsible for marketing, communications and advisor initiatives and ensuring the Canadian business aligned with North American and global perspective. Donna worked closely with BMO, Capital One, Costco and PC Financial to develop and implement products and services for Canadians.
