Finland-based fintech Enfuce has partnered with disruptive ecommerce aggregator startup Starcart to provide to its retailers and shoppers embedded virtual card payments. The partnership aims to transform the way in which consumers shop online and provide the speed, security, and convenience associated with these types of payments by combining Enfuce’s embedded payments capabilities with Starcart’s business model.
Starcart, Enfuce offering and details on the collaboration Founded in 2021 in Finland with the mission of simplifying online shopping, Starcart leverages automated search and bots to centralise over 12 million items into a catalogue that customers can easily use to buy what they want, in one place. Customers are enabled to quickly find and purchase the products they want from a multitude of different stores through one shopping cart and payment, thus making online shopping increasingly simple, cheap, and fast. By making use of Enfuce’s turnkey Card-as-a-Service (CaaS), which helps companies launch payment card programmes and embedded payments solutions, Starcart is now able to expedite and simplify online shopping through means of secure virtual cards that Starcart can issue to purchase items from online stores on its platform.
As throughout Europe there is a multitude of online stores, finding good deals or hard-to-find items can be time-consuming and costly for consumers and can require multiple purchases from different online sellers. High item prices and shipping fees can also stop customers from completing purchases, which in turn affects online sellers with high rates of cart abandonment. By collaborating with Enfuce, Starcart can generate benefits for its online sellers, enabling them to ‘level the playing field’ with competitors and get sales from customers they wouldn’t otherwise reach.
Furthermore, the virtual card payments enabled by Enfuce help Starcart retailers benefit from guaranteed settlement and payment and increased checkout conversions. The end-user is also enabled to purchase items from a multitude of online stores within one checkout experience and with the best prices. When commenting on the announcement, Pasi Ilola, Co-Founder and CEO at Starcart stated that the company is looking to remove the pain from online shopping and help people reduce their time in looking for the things they need.
The partnership with Enfuce helped the company solve the technical and legal challenges they were facing and enabled them to activate card payments and meet the need of the market, while simultaneously growing their business and providing customers with increased choice and convenience. Monika Liikamaa, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Enfuce added that Starcart’s aggregator concept of automatically searching stores, selecting items, and using bots to complete purchases helps expedite and simplify online shopping. Combined with Enfuce’s agile embedded payments functionality and the intuitive design of their CaaS built to anticipate and meet users’ needs, Starcart can add value and offer an increasingly ‘enjoyable’ purchase experience in as few clicks as possible.
