Tietoevry Banking has launched its Tap to Phone tool, for enabling clients across Europe to accept payments from any contactless card or mobile wallet. According to the press release, the Tap to Phone product was launched in collaboration with Axxtrans, as the company will focus on delivering the tool to integration partners across the payment ecosystem in Europe.
The latest partner that will utilise Tietoevry’s solution will be able to provide it to Electronic Cash Register (ECR) vendors, as well as other Point of Sale (POS) partners. Following this launch, payment acceptance will be allowed without the need for traditional card payment terminals. The process will take place with the usage of a software download from an application store.
Merchants and customers will be able to accept payments and transactions from any kind of contactless card or mobile wallet while using their Android device directly. Tietoevry Banking’s Tap on Phone service was designed to give merchants and traders the possibility to go-to-market quickly and safely. Furthermore, additional features will be integrated efficiently and seamlessly, in order to allow partners the capability to meet the needs and preferences of their clients and customers.
The company is set to launch its Tap on Phone tool in Europe, with the initial set of partners to be announced in Q2 2023. The service will be underpinned by an availability processing platform, as well as 24/7 customer support. The firm had several product launches and partnerships in the last couple of months, covering multiple geographies. Earlier in the same month, Tietoevry completed a systems upgrade for Chip Card, member of Payten, a payments processor in the Republic of Serbia. Chip Card’s collaboration with Tietoevry was set to implement an upgraded switching and clearing solution, which aimed to reduce clearing service execution time and resources while eliminating the risk of system downtime and lower operational costs as well. In October 2022, the firm signed a strategic technology and consulting deal with IBM for developing its financial technology software unit Tietoevry Banking.
The partnership was focused on helping deliver safe and improved services for payment and transaction technology, aimed at banks and financial institutions around the world. Tietoevry leveraged the IBM Cloud for Financial Services and IBM Consulting solutions to accelerate clients’ hybrid cloud adoption process while balancing the need to address the security and compliance requirements of the industry as well. .
