Agency Finance Servicing - Insurance Manager
As an Insurance Team Lead for the Agency Finance Servicing Team, you will be responsible for managing property insurance related risk for the Agency Finance servicing portfolio (loans that are underwritten through Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Ginnie Mae (“GSE’s”). Responsibilities will include establishing and managing processes that effectively monitor insurance coverages and assess related risks. This will include collection and review of insurance related documents, review of insurance coverages for adequacy, making insurance disbursements for escrowed loans and managing a force place insurance program where appropriate. You’ll also be responsible for providing information to internal (other LOB) and external (borrowers, insurance agents, third party providers, and the GSE’s) clients. Other responsibilities will include:
- Manage a team responsible for identifying, researching, solving and/or responding to requests, inquiries, and problem situations in a timely manner
- Oversee the process of communicating with insurance agents & borrowers to obtain current proof of insurance
- Manage a team that reviews insurance documentation in assigned portfolios to ensure adherence to the GSE insurance requirements
- Manage the insurance aspects of the Freddie securitization process, including mortgagee clause changes and insurance certifications
- Oversee insurance review vendor to include creating efficient processes, establishing and managing a vendor oversight and review process, and recommending appropriate changes to vendor engagements when applicable
- Follow up with insurance agents on outstanding documents and exceptions to bring coverage into compliance
- Oversee the team processing insurance waiver renewals
- Identify opportunities to improve processes to increase control and efficiency
- Create and maintain appropriate management reporting to include status of coverages as well as team and vendor metrics
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the insurance servicing functions
- At least three years of experience in a financial institution working with collateral
- At least three years of experience working in banking or Commercial Real Estate
- Experience with Microsoft Office or Google Suite
- High school Diploma, GED or Military Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Military Experience
- At least three years of experience in small business banking operations
- At least three years of experience with GSE backed multifamily loans
- At least one year of experience processing insurance disbursements
- At least 1 year of excel experience including pivot tables and formulas
