Microsoft’s Corporate Accounting organization is looking for a highly motivated individual to direct the Financial Compliance Group (FCG) team, lead Microsoft's worldwide Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) program, and drive financial compliance across Engineering Groups.
This position reports to the General Manager, Corporate Accounting in Redmond. A candidate should be experienced and passionate about controls and compliance as well as IT and business process excellence. As the leader of the team driving Microsoft's SOX program and financial compliance, the successful candidate will work closely with senior leaders from Finance and IT communities, as well as Internal and External Audit. The successful candidate is a person with strong people management, communication, and cross-group collaboration skills. The individual must be organized and demonstrate the ability to prioritize against multiple deadlines. The candidate should be highly motivated, flexible, and thrive in an ambiguous and dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Core Priorities and Technical Skills:

Provide clear direction and priorities for the SOX and Compliance programs

Actively engage with Finance and IT leaders to drive SOX compliance

Ensure high quality SOX program reporting for Microsoft's CEO certification and Audit Committee

Drive clarity for SOX and Compliance program stakeholders through meaningful training and communications to Business and IT communities
-
Ensure SOX and Compliance programs remain current with changes in accounting, auditing, and regulatory standards

Drive timely, effective, and sustainable audit issue and SOX deficiency remediation

Lead FCG collaboration and coordination efforts with Internal and External Audit teams

Lead a team of ten people that can meet changing business needs and evolve to grow with changing technology trends

BS/BA degree in Finance or Accounting
-
Minimum of 12+ years of related work experience, including experience working with SOX 404 and 302 projects for multinational companies

CPA, public accounting audit experience with large public companies and Internal Audit experience are a plus
