Description

This role is to support the Export & Agency Finance (EAF) Americas team.  The role will be focused on originating and executing transactions with for North American Agencies such as The Export Import Bank of the United States, Export Development Canada, the World Bank and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and marketing EAF's global ECA capabilities to Americas based borrowers to develop competitive financing solutions.  

  • The Candidate will help build on EAF’s strength of embedded relationship with ECAs and regional presence across the Americas, to identify and pitch for opportunities across Citi’s global client base;

    • There will be a need to engage in value added discussions with clients to achieve the status of “trusted advisor” and ensure comprehensive follow-through on identified opportunities to convert pipeline to wins

    • The candidate will need to partner with regional and cross-regional EAF transactors to build a partnership;

    • Coordinate with banking team and risk approvers to obtain credit/consent approvals for EAF transactions from obligor control units;

    • Prepare and present transactions to EAF business and risk approvers to obtain EAF approvals;

    • Coordinate/prepare and be part of the marketing pitches / proposals / commitment letters / mandate letters to clients and negotiating the terms thereof in accordance with approvals and Citi’s risk policies and legal standards;

    • Take an active role and responsibility in driving various strategic EAF initiatives to enhance deal origination and diversify business mix and achieve sustainable growth;

    • Working with trade distribution team to syndicate transactions down to EAF’s approved hold levels and

    • Adhering to requirements of EAF product programs, both for specific transactions as well as in relation to ongoing requirements for portfolio monitoring and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in products -DCM, AFG, CMO etc- and in Banking

  • Prior experience in working in Latin America

  • Sales experience and orientation experance with ECAs preferred

  • Knowledge of legal documentation and previous experience negotiating documentation with borrowers

  • Strong presentation and communication skills

  • Strong client engagement skills

  • Risk Credit Assessment, Cash flow modeling

  • Teamwork and ability to work in a varied cultures and lead-manage a pitch/transaction coordinating the efforts of several internal / external parties

  • Proficiency in discussing with banks during the syndication phase
