AWS Finance seeks a Finance Manager to lead a unique cross-functional project to help build out and enhance AWS customer profitability models. AWS is one of Amazon’s fastest growing businesses, servicing millions of customers in more than 190 countries and has more than 165 different services. This position will work closely with Service Finance teams, Infrastructure Finance teams and Sales & Marketing Finance teams to design, develop and implement processes and instrumentation that will enable dynamic views of our customer’s profitability. This position will require collaborating with operations, accounting and billing teams in order to develop a water-tight process. This person must have a passion for detail and ability to dive deep into the foundational building blocks of AWS services.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead the development of customer profitability models through an iterative agile process.
· Create and maintain detailed project plans along with dependencies to drive project milestones and iterative releases of models.
· Partner with FinTech and Finance teams to deeply understand the project roadmap and functionality of the Revenue Reporting System and Service Cost Tool System and provide feedback to influence the development of features to support automation of customer profitability models.
· Partner with Sales & Marketing Finance teams to drive optimal sales cost allocation.
· Lead development of specifications and requirements for a new system for automating customer profitability models.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) or equivalent and
· 7+ years of finance experience, OR master’s degree and 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Understanding of technology and web services
· Capable of investigating, familiarizing and mastering new data sets quickly.
· Advanced modeling skills including advanced Excel skills (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups etc.).
· Strong SQL knowledge.
· Preferable to have IBM Cognos TM1 experience.
· Excellent business judgement, including strong written and oral communication skills.
