This position is within the Treasury Controllers Group (TCG) which is responsible for the GAAP accounting results for the Capital Markets portfolio ($135B in assets) and other Treasury Related activities. TCG resides within Microsoft’s Corporate Accounting with significant interaction/support to the Global Treasury Team lead by Microsoft’s Corporate Treasurer. This position will focus on a wide range of these actives and heavily interact with internal and external business partners.
Responsibilities
Controls and Compliance:
- Work with Treasury and TCG to drive and provide guidelines to ensure compliance with Treasury investment policies and effective controls are put in place around Treasury activities.
- Monitor capital market risks and issue compliance reports to the Senior Executives (CFO, CAO, Treasurer).
- Drive and coordinate SOX testing for Treasury and TCG and be the liaison between the teams and Internal Audit, External Audit and FCG.
- Maintain Treasury system user access on a daily and weekly basis and drive quarterly system user access review.
- Provide support and guidance on Treasury related deliverables, projects and initiatives.
Treasury Accounting:
- Perform periodic financial analysis of portfolio components and provide economic validation to support SEC footnote disclosures.
- Drive improvements for business processes across the Treasury and TCG including group collaboration projects
- Strong business partnering with our external portfolio accounting team.

- 3-5 years of demonstrated work experience in a related field
- A 4-year degree in Finance, Accounting or Business
- CPA, CMA or other accounting certification highly desired
- Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal skills, and a wide range of Finance skills
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Office Suite applications.
