Join the Finance Operations Business Partnership (BP) Team as a Finance Manager and you will find yourself working with people that are exceptionally talented, determined, and committed to driving financial and process improvements. You will be a member of the Consumer Engagement team, and will be the Finance Operations representative for Amazon Retail. Finance Operations provides Amazon’s vendor payments and receivables services.
The Consumer Engagement Team is responsible for ensuring Finance Operations’ service performance is raising the bar of efficient, accurate payments for its customers. To accomplish this, you will own Finance Operations’ deliverables within an Amazon Retail Category(s). You will identify opportunities and drive actions to improve Amazon’s free cash flow and improve vendor experience. As a business partner, you will work daily alongside Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Service Centers, Vendor Managers, Retail Finance, Vendors, and other operational groups in a multinational environment. Complex problem solving and financial analysis skills are required to manage multiple high visibility priorities in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous situations.
Responsibilities:
· Lead the internal relationship between Finance Operations (vendor payments and receivables) and an Amazon Retail Category. Work cross-organizationally and functionally to manage Category performance as it relates to payments
· Develop and maintain an effective business partnership between Finance Operations, Service Centers and Retail Category; includes developing and providing operational and business metrics, reporting, proactive monitoring, and special project execution.
· Identify and drive opportunities for improved cash flow, margin or productivity improvements related to vendor payments and receivables. Achieve significant year-over-year improvement targets.
· Drive critical vendor, process and system escalations effectively to ensure root cause analysis and effective problem resolution. Improve the customer and vendor experience, while ensuring the highest degree of controllership and customer obsession.
· Identify and quantify financial and/or operational risks and opportunities, both internal to Finance Operations and the business, driving ad-hoc projects as required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· BA/BS degree in business, finance or a related field (MBA preferred)
· 10+ years of relevant finance and leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· MBA
· 5 – 10+ years retail or operations experience
· 5+ years experience in process improvement and operational excellence
· Green Belt or Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to present to leadership
· Exceptional data analysis skills at detail level to provide insights, feedback and perspective on operational and financial performance (advanced Excel modeling, SQL, Cognos, etc)
· Experience with optimizing operations and finance for cash flow, margin and productivity improvements
· Ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a fast-paced, often ambiguous, and rapidly changing environment
· Excellent analytical skills, a passion for metrics and figures, and the ability to get into the details while also seeing and understanding the big picture
