Role and Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst of Business Planning reports to the Senior Manager of Financial Sales & Operations for Business Planning. This position will support the operational execution of all things related to finances within the account team. Working close with senior leadership, the Senior Financial Analyst will use data analysis to understand, predict, and enhance mobile phone sales at Samsung’s largest account. This position will oversee tracking promotional spend, performance analysis, problem identification, and maintain the relationship with Samsung’s Sales Finance team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for all financial operations including liaison to Sales Finance Team for promotional spend approval

Manage process of finance approval for all Account Team promotional spend (aggregating to ~$500M yearly)

Develops real-time insights on market trends, shifts in sales behaviors, new category entrants, etc.

Assist with building complex financial models that predict sales lifts, promotion cost, incremental revenue, and ROI

Works cross-functionally (e.g., with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain) to ensure all details of each promotion are captured in the approval process

Supports exceeding quarterly and annual revenue, profit, and market share goals for assigned customer(s)

Timely payment of invoices received by our customers
Background/Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in general business, finance, economics, supply chain, or a related field
-
4-8 years’ experience in sales operations, finance, supply chain management, or a related field
-
Experience in high-volume retail environment, consumer electronics, or packaged goods
-
Preferred experience in mobile / telecom industries

The ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all appropriate levels within and outside the company.

Experience using advanced supply chain management, enterprise planning or financial planning systems is highly desired. (SAP, etc.)

Proven success in a highly dynamic, deadline-driven environment.

Should have advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint knowledge and skills.

Strong communication, both written (PPT presentations) and oral skills.

The ability to work either independently or in a team environment to achieve personal and team project goals, including the completion of assignments within and exceeding established time frames.
Physical/Mental Demands and Working Conditions: The position requires the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in the following environment:

Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between 50% - 95% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable (90%+) work utilizing high visual acuity/detail, numeric/character distinction, and moderate hand/finger dexterity.

The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PCs, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area.
