A great opportunity exists for a detail oriented, innovative, confident, and experienced professional to work as a Learning and Development Team Leader with a stellar team in a growing part of the business. As a Learning Manager, you will play a key role providing a range of support to the Auto Finance organization, by leveraging the team to consult with the business, build and execute learning strategy, and ensure well managed and effective results.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills; a strong attention to detail; the ability to work autonomously; and to manage multiple tasks effectively while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities. In addition, this individual should have strong written and verbal communication skills, both in person and over the phone. This individual should also have strong leadership and coaching skills.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, implement, and monitor training programs for the business, to be delivered through classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, online programs, conferences, and workshops.
  • Assist with the development of overall strategic plans relative to training by evaluating the needs of the group(s) and coordinating training programs and schedules accordingly.
  • Be a leader and manage a team of learning associates, including facilitators, instructional and digital developers, and consultants.
  • Facilitate classes, including soft skill/behavioral courses and job-specific skill courses.
  • Develop multimedia visual aids, presentations, brochures, assessments and training materials.
  • Create testing, evaluation and performance feedback processes.
  • Project management for implementing learning strategies, including business proposals that reflect budget, milestones, etc.
  • Build solid cross-functional relationships and connect with other Capital One L&D teams to leverage and share best practices.
  • Provide logistical support, course development, delivery, evaluation, process measurements, and cost management.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or military experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in managing a learning and development function
  • At least 3 years of experience in client facing consulting
  • At least 3 years of experience in people management and relationship management
  • At least 1 year of experience in project management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Business or Masters Degree in Human Resources or Masters Degree in Industrial/Labor Relations or Masters Degree in Organizational Psychology or Masters Degree in Communications
  • Professional Human Resources certification, or Senior Professional Human Resources certification, or coaching certification
  • At least 4 years of experience in managing a learning and development function
  • At least 4 years of experience in client facing consulting
  • At least 4 years of experience in people management and relationship management
  • At least 4 years of experience in financial services or 4 years of experience in a digital organization
