The Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) Pricing team is responsible for the single largest source of American Express revenue, merchant discount revenue. Leveraging customer-centric pricing principles and innovative pricing solutions, the team delivers merchant pricing to encourage acceptance and grow coverage, to increase merchant satisfaction and to drive GMNS revenue and profit.
The Senior Manager/Manager, U.S. B2B Merchant Pricing, provides pricing analysis, negotiation support and partnership strategies to the relationship management and sales teams focused on growing business-to-business (B2B) merchant relationships in the U.S. This role interacts with internal partners to connect buyers and sellers and grow their business on the American Express network, a key priority across the company. The U.S. B2B Merchant Pricing team seeks candidates with diverse analytical and interpersonal skill sets interested in being part of a team contributing to American Express’ objective of becoming the B2B payments leader.
Responsibilities
Partner closely with the B2B Supplier Enablement and Development organization to develop pricing strategies and to influence our negotiation strategies.
Provide strategic and analytical support for pricing decisions and merchant growth strategies.
Develop innovative pricing constructs, build business cases and generate ideas to differentiate merchant value in B2B while considering impact to our P&L and relative to the external environment.
Drive implementation, maintenance and reporting of pricing programs and strategies.
Deliver thought leadership and subject matter expertise for B2B pricing and value across B2B industries.
Collaborate with internal partners across Pricing, Client Management, Merchant Acquisition, Finance and Global Commercial Services to drive growth for our clients.

Demonstrated experience in analytics, financial modeling and problem-solving.
Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables and exhibit attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience as a self-starter who can work both collaboratively and autonomously.
Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated professionalism and experience interacting with business partners and senior leaders.
Intellectual curiosity and interest in gaining merchant and B2B experience.
A background in corporate finance and IT systems (SQL or SAS) is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
